However, I can get the correct effect by right-clicking on the "Main" box, selecting "New" then "Child" and then right-clicking on the "No Name" page and converting it to a section.

Instead, the two boxes simply sit there (#5). On pages 18-19, I cannot get any arrows to automatically add connections to the two Section icons I've pulled over and below the "Main" page icon on my Design tab of the Design window (as shown). Also, the in-text icon for the Diagram Set is wrong again (#2). On page 18, I do not get any sort of "black line" (as mentioned) showing up on any side of the "Main" page icon. On page 17, the option "Canvas As Single Page" is spelled wrong. On page 15, the icon describing "Diagram Set" is drawn with straight lines (like the "Site Items" icon) rather than with curved lines (#5). On page 14 (Creating a new design diagram), there is no option called "New Design Diagram", rather, it is merely "New Diagram" (#1). Initially impressive, this book suffers from a wealth of typos and operational problems within the first few pages of actual tutorial. It appears to be a rather large rewrite of the prior version of the book from GoLive 6.0. This book is the latest incarnation of the famous Adobe "Classroom In A Book" series.

Anyway, I will battle on, but my advice to others would be to avoid this one until Adobe Press re-issues it having corrected all of the mistakes.

The first lesson introduces many concepts and terminology without even explaining what they are (perhaps they assume you've read the user manual first - this wasn't the reason I bought a training book!). This doesn't instill confidence when you're trying to learn a new (and complex) peice of software.

Some of the inaccuracies are minor, but some have you questioning whether you've done something wrong, whether there's a bug in the software or an error in the book. The inaccuracies in the book are countless (go to the Adobe site forums, or search Google to read the accounts of other people), which makes the book very slow going. I've just started the GoLive CIB and unfortunately, based on first impressions and what I've read from other users who've progressed (persevered) further, the GoLive title doesn't deserve to be in the same stable. Having just finished the Photoshop Classroom in Book, I was extremely impressed - the Photoshop CIB edition was well paced, accurate, and takes the trouble to explain concepts as you go along. Having just bought Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, GoLive & InDesign) I also plumped for all 4 corresponding Classroom in Book (CIB) editions for the CS software.

Each chapter concludes with a review section to reinforce what you've learned, and a CD-ROM provides the files and images needed to complete the exercises. And plenty of attention has been paid to GoLive CS' new features as well: enhanced Smart Object capabilities, advanced CSS authoring and previewing, streamlined print-to-Web production, and more. Step-by-step instructions clearly detail toolbars, palettes, site architecture, Cascading Style Sheets, image maps, and more. Working at your own pace, using training materials created and tested in Adobe's own classrooms and labs, you'll soon be creating effective, efficient Web sites with GoLive CS.

In these pages, The Adobe Creative Team uses a series of project-based lessons to guide you through every aspect of GoLive's use. When you're ready to roll up your sleeves and start taking advantage of GoLive CS' powerful site management and collaboration capabilities, wireless authoring features, and dynamic database tools, it's time to get the guide from the people behind the software.
